1.0  INTRODUCTION TO SKITTER

What is an AIBO skit?
Skits are things such as dances, tricks, leg waves, tail wagging, etc...

Generally, anything AIBO does other than walking is a skit.   Skits controls AIBO's body movement, lights & sound.

Skitter runs on your PC (not AIBO).   Use it to create custom AIBO skits & performances.  All AIBO flavors are supported.   There are many features, effects, and safe-guards to make editing easy.  Skitter and Aibnet together are a complete AIBO design environment.

Skitter directly supports initializing memory sticks through a memstick reader, or over the AIBO wireless network (WLAN) -- if you have one.  Owners with an AIBO WLAN can test actions on-the-fly at any time.

Skitter works on Windows 98, 2000, XP & Vista.  It uses OpenGL for drawing a 3D AIBO preview.  A fast machine is not required for simple editing.   However, for simulated playback a fast machine (600 Mhz+ CPU) with a 3D graphics card is recommended.

2.0  INSTALLING SKITTER

Download the Skitter Installer to your PC desktop.

Double click on the installer icon & follow the simple step-by-step instructions.

2.1 Filename Associations

The first time you start Skitter, you see the "Welcome to Skitter" window (see right).

You're asked if Windows should use Skitter to open AIBO skits.

Click "OK" so Windows uses Skitter to open them (recommended).

Click "Skip" and nothing is changed.

You can change filename associations any time (from Edit menu, click Preferences).
